I don't know about you guys, but this is always a tough month of the year for me. With the holidays done and gone, I tend to feel a little blah. What do I decorate now? What do I make now?
I've decided to put a little focus on my craft room since it is the room I spend the most time in when I am home. When I originally set it up I stuck with a mainly black and white theme because I couldn't decide on colors. Well, now it's time to add some color! I made this garland in some bright colors to hang across my windows where my desk sits. These are super easy to make and so cute! I've included instructions on how to make them as well as some pictures below.
Paper Ball Garland
Materials:
6 pieces of 8.5x11 cardstock in the colors of your choice
Ruler
Scissors (or Cricut Machine)
Glue
String or twine to assemble
First step is to measure and cut your paper strips. I kept my strips 0.5 inch wide and about 10.5 inches long. I created this in Design Space and had my Cricut cut them out, however it can easily be done with a ruler and scissors as well. If you are using your Cricut, you should be able to cut enough strips for three balls on one sheet of 8.5 X 11 paper.
Once the strips are cut, I separated them into sets of four. Take each strip and fold it in half to find the center of the strip.
You will then start gluing them together as shown in the images below.
After you have the pieces connected in the center, begin to connect them at the top, forming the circular shape.
Piece of cake right? Continue doing this until you have made the number of paper globes you'd like for your garland. The possibilities are endless with these! You could make some for holidays or a birthday party theme as well. They would even be pretty intertwined with some string lights.
